Material choices, made specific

Choose the fabric.
Shape the collection.

The blend, structure and finish belong to a particular product. Start with the wearing experience and construction you need, then review the physical material and the conditions for sourcing it.

Tell Aeriwear the product category, intended activity, coverage, fit and handfeel you want. A leggings brief can involve waistband behavior, stretch and opacity; a training top may put more emphasis on weight, feel and construction. Identify the important properties rather than treating a broad fabric name as a complete specification.

For an existing catalog style, the material is part of that garment. Ask about its current specification and sample availability. Changing composition, knit, weight, color or finish moves the discussion into a separate material and development review.

Material directions in the Aeriwear range

Composition, structure and finish are separate decisions.

Nylon / spandex blends

A material direction used across Aeriwear leggings, sports bras and yoga-oriented products. Compare the handfeel, stretch, thickness and construction on the actual style; the blend is not identical across the range. A physical garment sample is the useful reference for fit and feel.

Polyester / spandex blends

A direction to discuss for training tops, tees, shorts and other performance collections. Specify the desired weight, surface and wearing conditions. If quick-drying or another measured property matters to your brief, agree how it will be evaluated for the proposed material.

Ribbed and brushed surfaces

These describe structure or finish rather than a universal fiber composition. Review texture, thickness, contact with the skin and how the material behaves in the intended garment. Keep fiber content and finish as separate fields in your specification.

Cotton blends for lifestyle layers

Aeriwear offers tops and layers that can form a gym-to-everyday range. Confirm the blend, weight and construction for the selected reference. A cotton-containing garment should not be described as pure cotton unless its actual composition supports that description.

Build a material specification

Identity

Product or fabric reference, fiber composition and the version or sample being reviewed.

Construction and feel

Knit or structure, weight in GSM where available, surface finish, lining and handfeel priorities.

Color and availability

Requested colors, physical color references, stock options and any separate sourcing or minimum requirements.

Evaluation

The required property, method and acceptance criteria for any performance check you need.

Compare materials on the same basis

Record which sample you examined, the garment size and the conditions behind any comments. Compare color under a stated light source and describe the fit or movement you reviewed. A product photograph introduces a style, but it cannot establish its exact feel or a performance result.

Keep the accepted material reference with the measurements and construction file. If the material changes later, revisit the sample and any dependent choices, including fit, logo application, labels and care wording. For a reorder, confirm the current material and color rather than relying only on an old product name.

Material questions

Is there one GSM for all leggings or sports bras?

No universal weight is listed here. Request the specification for the actual style or proposed development.

Can I change the fabric of a ready-stock style?

A new material requires its own feasibility, sample, color and minimum-quantity review. It is not the same scope as adding a logo to stock.
